Raymarine E120 – The Most Powerful Multi-function Display
Sleek, visually stunning, and providing unmatched performance, the Raymarine E120, the latest in Raymarine’s E-Series of multi-function navigational displays, is by far one of the most versatile and advanced MFDs out there, and to date it remains a mainstay in the recreational market. Whether or not you’re experienced in sailing, the Raymarine E120 will help you with everything you need.
The display itself is a visual treat, as it makes use of Raymarine’s exclusive Ultra-Bright Sunlight Viewable display technology, ensuring you a perfectly clear display with excellent contrast and crisp, bright color even in tropical sunlight. The 12.1” wide angle view and prismatic backlighting produces stunning detail and superior video quality.
It has a host of different features and most are very easy to learn and use. If a marine gps chartplotter is what you want, then this feature is easily attainable by connecting a Raystar GPS Sensor and Navionics Platinum Chart Cartridge to the Raymarine E120’s display. These gps chartplotters include countless features such as positional chart display, Relative, True Motion and Autozoom, with each being specifically designed to help you track your position on the high seas. It’s absolutely a superior advancement. However, the chartplotter is only one of many outstanding functions that the Raymarine E120 provides.
Another equally outstanding feature is the HD Digital Fishfinder, which is experienced by adding the DSM300 Digital Sonar Module to your E-Series display. The digital fishfinder has a myriad of features, with everything from zoom magnification, to an enhanced high resolution display. This patented digital sonar technology allows for precise targeting of fish and bottom structure. It’s an extremely useful tool for any fisherman or mariner.
And don’t forget the invariably helpful E120 Radar. Pick the Raymarine radome or open array that matches your necessity and join it with the display without a hitch. You can now navigate safely and confidently through fog, rain, and darkness. The E120 radar has features like radar waypoint navigation and multiple waypoint overlay, that will help you easily track your position. If you don’t want your boat to crash into something and end up at the bottom of the ocean, utilize the E120 Radar.
You can customize the Raymarine E120 chartplotter’s display interface to your preferences, and after doing so, the applications and functions will appear in a “Page.” Each page can be completely customized with multiple window configurations or full screen applications for every navigation scenario.
The E120 acts as a stand-alone navigational display if you don’t change any of the options. But if you want it to, it can be joined with other displays in the Raymarine E Series as part of a SeaTalkhs network, which will let you see the same functions on every display currently connected to the network. Integration for the E120 with external Raymarine instruments is simple thanks to the SeaTalk and SeaTalk2/SeaTalkNG protocols. And last but not least, the E120’s abilities are boosted even higher with NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 support, which allows for effortless integration with third party electronics.
Video Integration is a brand-new feature to the E120, which lets you view your information anywhere you want through a mixture of video input and output connections. The E120 is equipped with up to 4 video inputs for monitoring onboard cameras or viewing onboard entertainment, and its VGA output allows you to view your data on big screen TV's, PC monitors, or Raymarine's rugged M1500 marine monitor. An additional remote control keyboard is also available, so you can control the E120 display from a monitor at a different location. You can watch the video input either full-screen or windowed, and you can also set the window to go through each video input at user-select intervals. This is a brand-new feature that hasn’t been available on any other series other than the E-Series.
Assembled on a rugged aluminum chassis and built to stand against water, the E120 possesses a trunion mounting bracket and also a low-key flush mounting kit for a neat, unobtrusive helm. But wait… there’s more! The Raymarine E120 kit conveniently contains all the manuals, reference guides, and cords and cables that you’ll need to get everything up and running properly. If you need anything to set up the devices, it’s all here, the whole shebang.
It’s unquestionably a downright beneficial tool in a multitude of circumstances. Without question, the Raymarine E120 is a device that every sailor should check out.
does anyone know about these speakers i've brought?
they are beautiful to look at ... black glossy, n yellow speaker cones and sound wicked but they get a bad press on some electronic forums and i want to know why.. they are matrix 1200 dynamic series... i know nothing about this sort of thing by the way
Matrix is not a manufacturer.
It is just one of a range of fake speaker brands, usually sold from dodgy dealers, like the ubiquitous 'white van man' (see links below). They also often turn up on eBay, with fake warranties.
They are generally made in the poorer Eastern European countries, using low quality components and built to a very poor standard. If you actually open up the speakers, you will find they are appallingly badly made - they only look good on the outside.
There was even a fake Matrix website, aimed at conning people into paying huge amounts of money for speakers that are in reality, only worth about £100 or so.
