Move Your Money Out of Bailed Out Banks
Anti-big bank movement is gaining steam
Youve seen it in the news and youve experienced it firsthand. Banks have cried to the government for bailout money to continue operating, they received billions of taxpayer dollars and what did they do with that money? These suits that crashed the economy are still being paid more than they're worth, and the American people have had it. They use payday loans when they need quick cash, but what about long-term solutions? The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (FCIC) and it's board members, like Heather Murren, are well informed and probing bank CEOs about regulatory issues. But what can average consumers like yourself do with your money if you no longer want to support big banks and their greed and treachery? You can Move Your Money!
Community banks and credit unions build communities
Move Your Money is a grassroots effort that is designed to shift power away from Wall Street and to Main Street, according to MoveYourMoney.info. Phil Britt, in a recent article, observes that the movement is supported by the Huffington Post, which makes for great PR. Move Your Money aims to say NO to Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Citibank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JP Morgan Chase. They took billions in taxpayer money and have cut lending to businesses by $ 100 billion." The founder of the Huffington Post, Ariana Huffington (obviously) deems it populism at its best a withdrawal tax on the big banks for the negative service they provide by consistently ignoring the public interest." If the American people don't start demanding better practices, the banks won't respond and continue their mismanagement of your funds and the cycle will repeat itself.
Community banks support them
Berdell Knowles of the Community Development Bankers Association defines the culture gap between average citizens and big bankers. He blogs that The bank executives who make the decisions on how to use the earnings from your money, whether it be to pay management bonuses or to invest in sub-prime mortgages, will probably know little about you or your community. The alternative is community banks, which invest into local economies (instead of into the kind of overhead that huge banks often have).
Not only that, but Knowles acknowledges that a community bank might have better insight into a borrowers creditworthiness if theyre familiar with the customer. It's the personal touch that large institutions can't possibly replicate. Another thing community banks have over the big ones is that certain funding, for community economic investment, is allocated by state and federal governments to community banks. An example Britt gives is the three percent TARP funds for Small Business Lending. There was $ 1 billion in assets, specifically for community banks.
Are people listening to Move Your Money? Yes they are
Credit Union National Association CEO Dan Mica has blogged that consumers are already voting with their wallets in favor of credit unions." The growth of credit union membership grew by 2 percent in 2009, the best numbers credit unions have seen 2001, so this isn't a lark. Rep. Barney Frank had his finger on the pulse of the people when he said that the mortgage crisis would never have happened if big banks behaved like community banks and credit unions. A lot of people are getting the idea to teach the large banks a lesson, and Move Your Money is a good way to do it. When ordinary people need money, they have options like payday loans, but over the long term, credit unions and community banks are far more worthwhile to support than a huge multinational headquartered thousands of miles away.
i just badly burnt my finger what do i do?
i was cooking bacon and accidently touched the hot fat in the pan with my bay finger. i put it in cold water right away & now have to keep my finger in a glass of cold water , it still feels like its burning a bit even in the water & if i take it out like 3 seconds later the pain is horrible. its really red & starting to blister should i do anything else or just keep it in the glass of water? i burnt it 30minutes ago now & still really painful
Next time put ice on it right away, to stop the burning, now use colloidal silver and aloe.
Saturate a cotton ball with colloidal silver and tape it to the burn, this is what burn units use for severe burns. You can get it in the health food store.
Also keeping the hand elevated will help a little.
A tool for spreading shortening in a baking pan? (Google)
Hello, Everyone:
I use shortening to grease my baking pan, and I wonder if there is a
tool specifically designed for spreading shortening in a baking pan. I
usually opt to use a finger for the purpose, but it's kind of messy to
do so.
So could anyone suggest a tool for it?
Thank you for reading and replying!
