Creating Reidel Wine Glasses Decorations
It happened on a Saturday night. You hosted a wine tasting party for a bunch of 12 friends, and everything went perfectly. Well, just about everything. It did not take you long to find out that, while you had the ideal mixture of cheeses, crackers and reidel wine glasses, folks were continually confusing their glass with some other person's.

How do I tell when my guitar string is about to slide off of the nut?
Hello, attempting Panic Attack by Dream Theater, which is in dropped B, which is really low. I was wondering how I can tell when my strings are about to WHACK off of the tuning nut (or whatever its called) and whack me on my right hand. I got really scared when I tried tuning my low E because its only wrapped around two times, so I decided not to try it and just wait.
Any ideas?
First of all, Panic Attack is in A#D#G#C#FA#, not Drop B. If you're not changing string gauges and your nut's string slots are cut well and wide, it's not going anywhere. If you are changing string gauges and plan to play in a low tuning here on out, recut the nut and set the guitar up again. If you don't change string gauges and you're tuning down that low, your guitar will play and sound like complete sh*t. Just use a DropTune pedal or use a guitar designated for low tunings.
Great song choice though, and it makes you feel like you have extra big balls when you play it.
TDD vs FDD for LTE (geekzone)
New Zealand is debating how to best use the 700MHz spectrum that'll be freed
up for other uses after analogue television broadcasts are switched off in
favour of digital TV. Mobile operators are jockeying to get a fat slice of the
"Digital Dividend" (silly name really), to use for Long Term Evolution (even
sillier name) wireless data transmissions.
The going is slow, and one of the issues seems to be that the Ministry of
Economic Development (MED) prefers frequency division duplex (FDD)
configuration of the spectrum. This means providers use two bands, one for
uploads and another for downloads.
Others propose the use of Time Division Duplex or TDD. This uses a single band
that's used for both uploads and downloads with "time-slices" to obtain the
duplex or transmission in both directions capacity.
The two technologies have their own sets of pros and cons, with TDD seen as
the cheaper, easier to deploy technology (important for more competition) and
FDD providing better performance.
